Isabella is a multi-genre session violinist based in Manchester, UK. Her skills range from jazz improvisation to arranging for string sections, and she has a wide catalogue of recording genres under her belt.

 

With a degree in Classical Performance from the prestigious Royal Northern College of Music, her musical background is far from unsophisticated. From a young age, Isabella experienced working in multiple orchestral settings (including the Halle Youth Orchestra) in venues such as the Bridgewater Hall, the Barbican, and Royal Festival Hall. Aged 16, she attended the renowned Chetham’s School of Music, gaining tutelage from world-class teachers and peers. Here she realised her passion for genres outside the Classical scene, and decided to pursue it as her career, attending workshops at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA in order to extend her skillset.

 

After gaining a scholarship to the RNCM at 18, Isabella began to work with a multitude of artists on their original music, from songwriters to composers. Accolades include leading the RNCM Session Orchestra on multiple occasions, performing the entire string section on the ‘Road to the Royal Albert Hall’ album by Britain’s Got Talent winners ‘Collabro’, and working with singers Jamie Lawson, John Newman & Ray Quinn.

 

In 2019, Isabella set up her own ensemble, the Northern Session Collective, an agency where artists both in the UK and internationally could collaborate with orchestral instrument players on their music, and have the opportunity to record and perform with them. This was initiated from both a love for session work, and a desire to bring the Classical & Popular music worlds together - something she is extremely passionate about.

 

Her outlook on music is purely collaboration-focused, and she wants to use this to enable more equality and diversity within the music industry. She is available for string arrangements, remote recordings and much more.
